The City of Simi Valley does not currently define or regulate short-term rentals (STRs). Approximately 100 STR listings were identified in the city as of 2025. In November 2024, council voted 4-1 against banning STRs outright. In March 2026, the Planning Commission voted 4-0 to recommend a citywide ban to the City Council. Pending Council action, STRs are technically unregulated but this is expected to change. Check with the City for current status.
