Apex Town Code § 18-11 makes it unlawful to build, erect, or place a porch, fence, wall, storage pod, dumpster, or construction materials on any street or sidewalk in the Town of Apex, Wake County, North Carolina, or to obstruct one with a vehicle, railroad car, bench, chicken coop, or similar article. Abutting merchants may display goods in a strip up to two and one-half feet wide, and baby carriages and wheelchairs are exempt. In the Central Business District, sidewalk cafe tables and outdoor displays are allowed only under a Planning Department-approved site plan and must leave a 36-inch clear accessible travel path.
