Centennial, CO Sidewalk & Pedestrian Rules: Obstruction Rules (2026)

Centennial Municipal Code § 7-2-60 makes it unlawful to place or store construction materials, debris, landscape materials, snow, or ice on public property, including sidewalks, streets, and rights-of-way, unless the person is a City employee, official, or contractor. The same section separately bars accumulations on private property from encroaching within eight vertical feet above any sidewalk or pedestrian walkway, or fifteen vertical feet above surfaces used for vehicular traffic. Removal of naturally occurring snow or ice is not required by this section. Violations are enforced as a nuisance offense under Article 1 of Chapter 7, subject to abatement, cost liens, and municipal court prosecution.
