Galloway Township, NJ Sign Regulations: Garage Sale Signs (2026)

Under § 233-10 (Sign regulations), garage-sale, yard-sale, and similar temporary signs are treated as temporary signage. The ordinance permits temporary displays for limited periods: for example, Galloway allows pennants, banners, and similar temporary displays for a thirty-day period 'provided that they are constructed, hung and/or exhibited in a secure and otherwise safe and workmanlike manner.' Small event signs like garage-sale signs must be placed on private property with the owner's consent, may not block driver sightlines, and may not be posted on utility poles, street signs, or in the public right-of-way.
