Garage sale signs are permitted on private property during the sale and must be removed within 24 hours of sale end. Placement in public right-of-way is prohibited.
Grove City Codified Ordinance 1185.07(c) allows temporary event signs including garage sale signs, limited to 4 square feet per sign. Signs must be displayed only during the sale and removed within 24 hours after conclusion. Placement on utility poles, street signs, traffic signs, or within the tree lawn violates GCCO 660.06 (obstruction of public way) and GCCO 1185.15 (signs in right-of-way). Service Department removes violating signs without notice; repeat posting may result in citation.
