Full Breakdown
Section 5.56.070 governs garage sale signage. On-site signs may not exceed four square feet each and must stay on the sale premises. Up to two off-site directional signs are allowed, but only with written permission from the property owner where each is placed, and their locations must be listed on the permit. Every sign must show the sale's permit number, come down at the close of each day's sale activity or at nightfall (whichever comes first), and can never go on a public right-of-way, telephone pole, street-intersection sign, or utility pole.
Violations & Fines
Placing an oversized sign, more than two off-site signs, or a sign in the public right-of-way violates Section 5.56.070 and can result in permit revocation.
