Buckeye, AZ Sign Regulations: Holiday Displays (2026)

Buckeye's exterior lighting standards (Development Code Article 5, Section 5.11) generally require shielded fixtures, a 3000K color-temperature cap, and an 11 p.m. shutoff for Class 1 and Class 2 lighting within 50 feet of single-family homes. Section 5.11.3(L)(3) exempts 'temporary decorative seasonal lighting' from the whole section's requirements outright, but only if each individual lamp has a light output of 200 lumens or less. Section 5.11.3(G) separately confirms that seasonal lighting decorations meeting that lumen cap are exempt from the residential shutoff curfew, so a compliant holiday display can stay lit all night. Any bulb brighter than 200 lumens forfeits the exemption and must meet the full lighting standard, including shielding and the curfew.
