Violations & Fines
Fines under § 37.05(D) are due within 30 days of assessment, with a 10% late fee added if unpaid by the deadline; unpaid fines and late fees can be referred for collection, including through the County Attorney and normal debt-collection remedies with attorney fees and costs added. A person cited has the right to appeal in writing to the Board of Elections and Registration within ten days of the notice of violation, with a hearing to begin within 20 days of the appeal request.
