Augusta-Richmond County, GA Sign Regulations: Political Signs (2026)

Under Section 28-B-4(J) of the Augusta, Georgia sign ordinance, political signs advertising a candidate or ballot issue are exempt from the county's sign-permit process only if they measure 32 square feet or less and are taken down within ten days after the election they concern. Larger political signs lose the exemption and must instead comply with the temporary-sign standards in Section 28-B-6, including the size cap, quarterly display limits, and permit-and-decal requirement that apply to other temporary signs countywide, including in Augusta but not in the separately incorporated cities of Blythe and Hephzibah.
