A's general provisions. That exemption comes with a coverage ceiling: the interior signage in any given window cannot exceed 30% of the total window area. The rule is written broadly, covering any interior window sign rather than singling out a particular use, so it applies equally to a retail storefront, a restaurant or a home occupation operating from a street-facing window. F(1)(c) permits up to two window- or door-painted business signs per storefront in the Neighborhood Commercial District, capped at six square feet combined, which is a separate standard from the 30% interior-display rule and applies to signs painted directly on the glass rather than placed inside.

Because § 550-124's general sign-area measurement rule in Subsection A(10) states that 'signs within the interior of a structure designed to be seen and read from the exterior shall be considered as part of any maximum sign area,' interior displays intended to be read from the sidewalk or street count toward the property's overall sign allotment even though they sit behind glass rather than on the building's exterior.
