Full Breakdown

Anyone installing, enlarging, altering, repairing, removing, converting or replacing a solar thermal or photovoltaic system in Midwest City must first apply and submit required documentation to the chief building official and obtain a permit under the city's electrical code. No connection to a utility or power source is allowed until the chief building official authorizes it. Permit fees follow the fee table in § 9-47. This applies inside Midwest City limits, not on Tinker Air Force Base or in neighboring Oklahoma City, Del City, Choctaw, Nicoma Park or Spencer, which run their own permitting.

Violations & Fines

Connecting a solar system to power before city authorization violates § 9-158's connection-approval rule; working without a permit is a Code violation subject to the chief building official's enforcement and possible reinspection fees.
