Full Breakdown

Under Fargo Municipal Code § 25-0510(E), a dwelling is legally off-limits to solicitors once it displays a sign at least 3 by 4 inches reading "NO SOLICITORS" (or similar) in letters at least 1/3 inch tall near the main entrance; the city sells compliant signs. Section 25-0510(F) separately bars any uninvited solicitation on any premises before 9:00 a.m. or after 9:00 p.m., regardless of signage. Solicitors must also carry their city-issued permit and produce it on request.

Violations & Fines

Soliciting a posted residence or knocking outside the 9 a.m.-9 p.m. window without an invitation violates § 25-0510; the police enforce it against the solicitor, and repeat or willful violations can lead to permit revocation by the solicitations board under § 25-0509.
