Farmersville, TX Special Events & Permits: Park Event Permits (2026)

Two permits can apply to a park gathering in Farmersville, and they answer different questions. Sec. 50-27(a) is the narrow one: it is the mechanism for a bona fide group or organization to keep a park open beyond the standard dawn-to-dusk window, and the permit is obtained directly at city hall. Separately, Chapter 60's special event permit governs a public gathering that needs a temporary exception to the code, such as closing a street, erecting a tent, stage, or bleachers, offering food or merchandise, or running amplified sound; Sec.

60-10(a) bars holding such an event without that permit. Sec. 00-per-day late-submittal fee for anything filed closer to the date, and caps any one address, property owner, or business owner at six special event permits per calendar year. The city manager must grant or deny a complete application within five business days, and a granted permit is valid for a maximum of five days under Sec. 60-11(a)(2) and (10). Sec. 00 in business automobile liability coverage, naming the city as an additional insured, unless the operator instead signs a written indemnity agreement.

Traditional community events named in Sec. 60-2, such as the Christmas Parade or Jazz on Main, and events entirely inside a facility already licensed for that use, are exempted under Sec. 60-4.
