Farmersville, TX Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Section 71-145 of the Farmersville Code makes it unlawful and an offense for any person to leave, stand or park a motor vehicle or trailer on a public street or highway for a period exceeding 48 continuous hours. Section 71-174 addresses a different hazard: it bars stopping, standing or parking any vehicle on a street in a manner that leaves less than ten feet of a lane's width open for the free movement of traffic, with an exception for a driver who is temporarily loading or unloading passengers, or complying with a traffic signal, sign, or a police officer's direction.

Together the two sections form the baseline for the on-street parking article, Article V, Division 1, which also separately restricts disabled-only spaces under Section 71-146, marked no-parking and loading zones under Section 71-147, and overnight parking downtown under Section 71-148. Section 71-171 backs all of them by making it unlawful to park in violation of any official sign, curb marking or street marking put up under the article, and Section 71-177 lets the city presume the registered owner was the one who parked an illegally standing vehicle, easing enforcement when the driver has left the scene.
