Stedman, NC Special Events & Permits: Park Event Permits (2026)

Section 69.03 identifies which park facilities can be reserved for an event: picnic shelters. The playground area is expressly excluded from reservation and must remain open to the public during the park's hours of operation regardless of any event booked elsewhere in the park. Residents and groups can get reservation policies, rules and forms at Town Hall, but the ordinance text itself does not set a fee schedule for shelter reservations. Chapter 69's conduct rules apply on top of any reservation: § 69.04(A) makes it unlawful to place a structure, sign, poster or advertising device, or to attach a notice, sign, wire, rod, chain or cord to a tree, shrub, fence or structure in any recreation facility, unless the Town Board of Commissioners grants special permission, which covers event signage and banners. Section 69.01 frames the whole chapter's purpose as regulating the use, occupancy and conduct of persons in Ernest Freeman Park and every Town-owned recreation area.
