Hamilton, NJ Special Events & Permits: Street Fair Rules (2026)

Chapter 215, the Township's consolidated fee schedule, sets out § 215-11 to cover vendors and crafters who participate in Township-sponsored fairs and community events, not privately organized street fairs. The ordinance splits events into two tiers. A large community event, defined as one drawing 15 or more vendors, charges profit food vendors with electrical service $600 (or $450 at the early-registration discount, plus $300 for an additional stand), nonelectrical food vendors $500, snack-food vendors $400, and nonprofit food vendors $75. Non-food vendors at a large event pay by category: crafters $60, demonstrators $100, nonprofit display booths $50, government or political groups $75, and small businesses $500.

A small community event, defined as 14 or fewer vendors, uses a flat schedule with no early-registration tier: electrical food vendors pay $300, nonelectrical food vendors $200, and crafters, demonstrators, nonprofit booths, political groups and small businesses pay the same rates as the large-event schedule. A separate, lower schedule applies to other Township-sponsored indoor events, capping most vendor categories at $200. The ordinance gives the Township Business Administrator or a designee discretion to exclude "Township-awarded vendors" from any of these fees, functioning as a waiver for vendors the Township specifically invites or partners with.
