Nevada Charitable Solicitation Registration Requirements

Under NRS 82A.100 through 82A.260, charitable organizations must register with the Nevada Secretary of State before soliciting contributions, file annual financial disclosures, and identify themselves clearly to potential donors. Professional solicitors and fundraising counsel must register separately and file solicitation campaign reports. Door-to-door commercial solicitation is regulated locally, but state law preempts deceptive solicitation practices through NRS 598 (Deceptive Trade Practices). Religious organizations and small charities under $10,000 in annual contributions are exempt from registration. Failure to register is a misdemeanor and can support consumer protection enforcement by the Attorney General.

Unregistered charitable solicitation is a misdemeanor and may incur civil penalties up to $5,000 per violation under NRS 598 deceptive practices enforcement.
