Las Vegas, NV Soliciting & Door-to-Door: Solicitor Permits (2026)

LVMC Chapter 6.62 defines peddling or soliciting broadly as selling, offering to sell, or soliciting orders for goods or services on the City's streets, sidewalks or alleys, or door-to-door, whether on foot or by other transportation, under 6.62.010. Section 6.62.020 requires both a peddler/solicitor permit, or an agent solicitation permit for someone acting on a business's behalf, and a work card issued under Chapter 6.86 before anyone may peddle or solicit in the City; a business principal who lets an agent solicit without that agent holding both documents also violates the Chapter.

Exemptions under 6.62.030 cover charitable solicitations already regulated under Chapter 11.62, Chapter 6.78 or NRS Chapters 82 and 598; temporary merchants, sidewalk vendors and mobile food vendors already licensed under their own Title 6 chapters; and sales from licensed wholesale or retail businesses in the City. Holders of a valid City business license are separately exempt from the permit and its fee under 6.62.040. To apply, 6.62.050 requires a $50 nonrefundable processing fee plus a description of the business, the dates the applicant wants to peddle or solicit, and the selling methods and products involved; the Director can deny, suspend or revoke a permit under 6.62.060 for incomplete or false applications, unlicensed prior operation, disciplinary history, moral-turpitude convictions or other dishonesty.

Permits run a minimum of seven days and a maximum of thirty, renewable by the Director in thirty-day increments up to six months total, under 6.62.090. Every permittee must also post a $5,000 surety bond with the Department, payable to the City or anyone injured by a Code violation, under 6.62.100, and pay a permit fee of $50 per week per peddler or solicitor, or $150 per month for monthly permits, under 6.62.110. Permits and work cards must be shown on request under 6.62.080.
