Wyoming Weed and Pest Control Act Statewide Framework

Wyoming Statutes Title 11, Chapter 5 organize all land in the state into county weed and pest control districts that operate uniformly across federal, state, private, and municipal property. The Wyoming Weed and Pest Council manages a state designated list, and each district may declare additional county weeds. Landowners must control listed noxious weeds, and districts may enter property to treat infestations and recover costs. County commissioners levy a property tax not to exceed one mill on assessed valuation to fund the program. Municipal weed ordinances must operate consistently with this statewide framework rather than override designated weed status.

Failure to control designated noxious weeds may trigger district treatment of the property with costs assessed against the landowner as a lien collected with property taxes.
