Six (6) Inches in Height. Cheyenne City Code 8.60.050(A) makes it a nuisance for grasses, weeds, and other troublesome or harmful vegetation on a lot to exceed six inches in height, outside the traveled portion of the street or alley. Noxious weeds designated by the Wyoming Weed and Pest Council are a nuisance regardless of height. The six-inch cap does not apply to city-approved natural areas, native or naturalized landscaping under an approved site plan, sustainable landscape plans, greenway sections approved by the compliance department, or residential/agricultural lots of 0.8 acres or more. Enforcement runs through the city's nuisance abatement process, and unresolved violations can be abated by the city or a contractor with costs plus a 50 percent administrative fee billed to the property owner.
