Full Breakdown
City Code 6.08.070 makes it unlawful for an animal owner to let their animal disturb the peace and quiet of any individual, family or neighborhood through excessive, continuous or untimely barking, whining or howling. A first incident draws a written warning from the city; only after that warning does a repeat violation within 12 months become a chargeable misdemeanor, so enforcement is complaint-driven and warning-first rather than an automatic citation.
Violations & Fines
First violation: written warning only. A second violation within 12 months of that warning is a misdemeanor under City Code 1.24.010's general penalty.
