FL Residential Swimming Pool Safety Act (FL 515) is adopted by reference in the Florida Building Code and enforced by Delray Beach. Pool barriers must be at least 48 inches high measured from outside, with latch release at least 54 inches above ground. Gates must self-close and self-latch and open outward. Chain-link openings cannot exceed 1.75 inches. Owners must choose at least one of: pool safety cover meeting ASTM F1346, door/window alarms on any home opening onto the pool, or pool alarm (ASTM F2208).
