(b)Water treatment.(1)Public pools. Public swimming pools shall be designed and installed so that there is a pool water turnover at least once every eight hours. The treatment system shall be designed and installed so that at all times when the pool is occupied, the water is provided with excess chlorine of not less than 0.4 parts per million (ppm) or more than 0.6 ppm, or excess chloramine between 0.7 and 1.0 ppm, or disinfection shall be provided by other approved means. Acidity/alkalinity of the pool water shall not be below 7.0 or more than 7.5.
