The county pool regulations require operators to maintain posted safety signage including pool rules, depth markings, no-diving signs in shallow areas, and emergency contact information. Pools must have approved lifesaving equipment such as a ring buoy with line and a reaching pole. Drain covers must be VGBA-compliant and anti-entrapment. Water chemistry, including disinfectant residual and pH, must be tested and logged. Pools without lifeguards must post warning signage that no lifeguard is on duty.
Missing safety equipment, expired drain covers, inadequate signage, or unsafe water chemistry can lead to immediate closure orders, permit revocation, and citations issued by Environmental Health staff during inspection.
