Ada County Code 5-2-4-3 requires carts to be placed no more than four feet from the street without blocking parking, driveways, or pedestrians. Set carts out by 7:00 A.M. on collection day, no earlier than the evening before, and don't leave them curbside between pickups.
Cart placement in unincorporated Ada County is set by Ada County Code 5-2-4-3. Sanitary containers must be placed within four feet of the street, or as close as reasonably possible, without obstructing parking areas, entrances/exits, or pedestrian traffic. Carts set out farther than four feet may be subject to carry-out service and an additional fee. Containers must be out no later than 7:00 A.M. on the scheduled collection day and no sooner than the evening before, and may not be stored curbside between collections. Under Ordinance 938, loose or bagged waste placed outside the Hardin Sanitation carts will not be collected.
Improper placement can result in missed pickup, carry-out fees, or enforcement under Ada County Code 5-2-10 (solid-waste violations are misdemeanors under Idaho Code 18-113).
