Trash and recycling carts must be placed at the curb with wheels facing the house, at least 3 feet apart and clear of mailboxes, fire hydrants, and parked vehicles. Carts must be stored out of public view between collection days.
City Code Chapter 143 and Chapter 108 (property maintenance) require carts stored behind the front building line of the home or screened from street view except on collection day. Carts at curb should be placed no earlier than 6:00 PM the evening before and removed by end of collection day. Placement interfering with sight triangles, stormwater grates, or traffic is prohibited.
Cart storage visible from street: code enforcement warning, then 50 dollar civil citation. Blocking hydrants or drains: immediate citation.
