Teaneck requires trash and recycling containers to be placed at curbside only on collection days and stored out of public view from the street on non-collection days.
Township ordinance requires receptacles to be placed at the curb no earlier than the evening before pickup and removed by the end of the collection day. Bins stored on non-collection days must be located behind the front building line or otherwise screened from public view. Bins cannot block sidewalks, fire hydrants, or impede pedestrian access. Property owners are responsible for cleanup of any spilled material.
Persistent improper bin placement may result in property maintenance citations, summonses, and fines per occurrence under township ordinance.
