Englewood Chapter 364 sets standards for placement of solid waste and recycling containers at the curb, including timing, blocking sidewalks, and protecting stormwater drainage during leaf and yard set-out.
Englewood requires residents to place solid waste, recycling, and yard waste at the curb in compliance with Chapter 364. Containers must not interfere with traffic or stormwater drainage, and leaves placed during designated leaf collection windows must be raked to the curb without obstructing the street or storm inlets. Outside the leaf collection window, leaves must be placed in biodegradable paper bags at the curb. The Department of Public Works publishes a service calendar identifying ward-based collection days for residents.
Placing containers or leaf piles in the street, blocking stormwater inlets, setting out material outside the published collection window, or using prohibited plastic leaf bags can result in citation by Public Works enforcement officers.
