Englewood regulates leaf and yard waste under a ward-based collection schedule, prohibiting plastic bags, banning commingled disposal with solid waste, and assigning designated curb-set-out windows in fall.
Englewood's yard waste program runs ward by ward each fall, with Ward 1 collected Mondays, Ward 2 Tuesdays, Ward 3 Thursdays, and Ward 4 Fridays. Leaves may be raked to the curb only during posted dates without blocking traffic or drainage. Outside those dates, leaves must be placed in biodegradable paper bags at the curb. No person shall place leaves in plastic bags or commingle leaves with solid waste. The Department of Public Works publishes the annual schedule in the Garbage and Recycling Pick Up Schedule.
Violations include using plastic leaf bags, commingling leaves with regular trash, blocking stormwater inlets with leaf piles, or setting leaves out outside the published ward collection window.
