CR&R provides Bellflower single-family and multi-family customers unlimited bulky-item pickups, including electronic waste, free of charge. Items must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance and cannot exceed 8 feet long, 4 feet wide, or 150 pounds.
The City of Bellflower offers generous bulky-item disposal through its franchised hauler, CR&R. Single-family and multi-family customers are entitled to unlimited bulky-item pickups, including electronic waste, free of charge. Accepted items include furniture, appliances (such as refrigerators, washers and dryers), electronic equipment and monitors, universal waste like batteries and fluorescent tubes, excessive green waste, bundled cardboard, clothing and tires. Pickups must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance by contacting CR&R customer service; CR&R is reached at (877) 944-4716. Each item cannot exceed eight feet long, four feet wide, or 150 pounds. The city and CR&R also support household hazardous waste disposal through separate county/regional programs (hazardous materials such as paint, chemicals and motor oil are not placed in carts or in bulky pickups). For construction and large cleanouts, CR&R offers temporary roll-off bins in 3-, 10- and 40-yard sizes, and placing a bin in the public right-of-way requires an encroachment permit from city Public Works. Because Bellflower is an incorporated city with an exclusive franchise, residents use CR&R's program rather than any county bulky-waste service. Bellflower's unlimited free bulky pickup is more generous than many cities that cap pickups at a few per year.
Setting out bulky items without scheduling at least 24 hours ahead, exceeding the 8 ft x 4 ft x 150 lb per-item limits, or placing prohibited hazardous materials for bulky pickup is not allowed; oversized or hazardous items require separate arrangements with CR&R or county HHW programs.
