Bulky items, junk and discarded furniture fall under § 6-3-7 alongside yard debris, but the code treats them as their own separated pile: subsection (A)(3) requires all other junk, debris or discarded furniture to be placed together at curbside for collection, apart from cuttings, shrubbery and fine yard vegetation. Loads of more than half a truckload are hauled as trucks and personnel become available rather than on a guaranteed next-day basis, so a couch or mattress may sit longer than a week's regular garbage pickup.

Subsection (D) puts a two-day outer limit on how early residents can set bulky items out: junk, discarded furniture or white goods can't go to the curb more than two days ahead of the scheduled collection day, keeping large items from sitting at the curb for a week. Subsection (A)(4) bars putting any trash, junk or debris in the gutter or on the public street itself, so bulky items belong directly behind the curb on the owner's or tenant's property in an accessible spot, not in the roadway.

Anyone hired to cut or trim trees or shrubbery for a property owner is separately required under subsection (B) to haul those cuttings to the designated disposal site rather than leaving them for city pickup, and subsection (C) makes it unlawful to dump limbs, junk or discarded items into a city-owned or -maintained drainage ditch.
