Laredo offers scheduled bulky waste pickup for items that do not fit in the regular cart. Residents must call to arrange collection. Brush and bulky items are collected on separate routes with size and material limits.
The City of Laredo Environmental Services Department provides bulky waste and brush collection for single-family residents on a scheduled basis, typically one bulky pickup per month per household. Acceptable items include furniture, mattresses, appliances (with refrigerant removed and documented), and tied bundles of brush (branches under 4 feet long and 6 inches diameter). Prohibited from bulky pickup: construction debris, hazardous waste, tires (limit 4 per year at designated events), electronics (e-waste collection events), and yard waste in plastic bags (must be paper or tied). Residents call the department or use the online portal at least 48 hours before desired pickup. Items must be placed at the curb the night before the scheduled date.
Placing prohibited materials out for bulky pickup or setting items out without scheduling can result in non-collection and code enforcement fines of $75 or more.
