Orlando provides scheduled bulk item pickup for residential properties at no extra charge. Residents must schedule pickups through 311 for large items such as furniture, appliances, mattresses, and electronics. Items must be placed curbside on the scheduled pickup day. Certain hazardous items including tires, batteries, and chemicals require special disposal.
Orlando's bulk waste service handles items too large for regular carts. Eligible items include furniture, mattresses, appliances (Freon-containing units accepted), water heaters, and large household items. Items must be placed at the curb on the scheduled day, not in the street. Construction debris in limited quantities (up to 2 cubic yards) may be collected. Prohibited items include hazardous waste, tires (more than 4), automotive batteries, and commercial waste. The city also holds periodic hazardous waste collection events for paints, chemicals, and electronics.
Placing bulk items without scheduling: may not be collected, code violation for debris. Illegal dumping of bulk items: fines up to $500. Hazardous materials in bulk: additional state penalties.
