Ceres, CA Trash & Recycling: Dumpster Rules (2026)

Ceres Municipal Code § 18.16.060(Q), the commercial-zone property development standards, prohibits open storage of solid waste: businesses must provide an area for the storage, collection, and loading of garbage, refuse, and recyclables that is conveniently located for users and haulers, sized to the volume generated, protected from the weather, and screened from public view -- unless the Community Development Director waives the requirement. Title 6 backs this up for the physical bin itself: CMC § 6.01.030(D) requires that every bin (what the code calls a dumpster) the City's contracted hauler places on a property be kept only in the areas and structures the applicable zoning ordinance allows, so placement is set at site-plan approval, not left to the tenant.
