Dumping waste or debris on any public street or highway, or within 300 feet of one, is unlawful in Cranston, punishable by a fine up to $200 per violation plus mandatory removal.
It shall be unlawful for any person to throw or deposit any waste material or debris upon any public highway or platted street, or within three hundred (300) feet thereof, except in public receptacles or in authorized private receptacles for collection, or to overload, or cause to be overloaded, any vehicle carrying or transporting any waste material debris, sand, gravel, coal, ashes, stone, or other materials, so as to result in having same spill upon any public highway or platted street, or within three hundred (300) feet thereof. Any person who violates the provisions of this section shall be subject to a fine not to exceed two hundred dollars ($200.00) and said person shall be responsible for the safe removal and legal disposal of said waste material or debris at his or her expense within the ten (10) day period shall be subject to an additional fine not to exceed two hundred dollars ($200.00).
