Coral Springs provides twice-weekly garbage collection, once-weekly recycling collection, and once-weekly bulk collection through its contract with Coastal Waste & Recycling. Carts must be placed within 5 feet of the curb by 7:00 AM on collection days with lids closed. Only city-issued carts are serviced. The city uses single-stream recycling.
Coral Springs residential waste collection is provided through a city contract with Coastal Waste & Recycling. Garbage (green carts) is collected twice per week and recycling (blue carts) once per week, with bulk waste collected once per week on a schedule determined by neighborhood zone. Carts must be placed within 5 feet of the curb by 7:00 AM on collection day with the cart handle facing away from the street and the lid opening toward the roadway. All garbage must be placed inside the cart with the lid fully closed β items may not extend above the top rim. Only city-provided carts are collected; resident-owned containers are not serviced. Coral Springs uses single-stream recycling, meaning all recyclable materials (paper, cardboard, plastics, metals, glass) go in the blue cart without sorting. No plastic bags may be placed in the blue recycling cart β visible bags will cause the cart to be skipped. Yard waste is collected as part of the bulk pickup schedule. Collection schedules vary by zone β residents can check their specific schedule on the city website or the Coastal Waste customer portal. The city's Waste Transfer Station at 2400 N. Powerline Road accepts additional waste including household hazardous waste on the first weekend of each month.
Placing carts out before the evening prior to collection or failing to retrieve them by 7:00 PM on collection day is a code violation under Chapter 8. Contaminated recycling carts (containing plastic bags or non-recyclable items) will be skipped. Illegal dumping is a criminal offense under Florida law.
