Midwest City, OK Trash & Recycling: Pickup Rules & Schedules (2026)

Midwest City handles collection through Chapter 18 of its code. The core set-out rule is section 18-5: it is unlawful to deposit garbage, refuse or rubbish for collection on any street, parking or private property in the city without placing it in enclosed containers as set forth in the chapter. That obligation runs to the owner, the person having control, or the occupant of the premises, and section 18-6 makes failing or refusing to use the required containers a violation in its own right, alongside failure to pay uncontested service bills within ten days of official notice.

Section 18-23 provides the only exemption route from the container requirement. Bulk waste is handled separately and generously. Under section 18-9, a resident with a current and active utility account for full services is provided four bulk collection events annually, running from the first business day of January to the last business day of December. Excessive amounts of brush, waste and bulky household items are collected quarterly at the curbside for an involuntary rate of one dollar per month. The bulk waste must have been generated by the owner or occupant at that residence, so the service does not cover material hauled in from elsewhere.

Commercial hauling is regulated separately: section 18-3 makes it unlawful to engage in commercial hauling of garbage, refuse and rubbish from premises in the city, or to transport it through city streets and alleys, outside the terms of the chapter.
