Dunedin provides curbside single-stream recycling weekly under Chapter 66, with accepted materials including paper, cardboard, metal cans, and plastics #1 and #2 only.
Under Chapter 66 of the Dunedin Code, the Solid Waste Division collects single-stream mixed recycling from each residential address once per week using a city-issued cart. Accepted materials include corrugated cardboard, paperboard, mixed paper, aluminum and steel cans, glass bottles, and rigid plastic containers numbered #1 and #2. Plastic bags, film, foam, food-soiled paper, and electronics are not accepted in carts and must be taken to Pinellas County drop-off facilities. Contaminated loads may be tagged and left, and persistent contamination can lead to cart removal. Multi-family complexes have separate recycling arrangements through Public Works.
Contaminated carts are tagged and not collected. Repeat offenses can result in cart removal, fees, and code enforcement notices for improper disposal.
