Dunedin requires curbside carts placed by 6:00 a.m. with three feet of clearance on all sides and at least five feet from mailboxes, trees, and parked cars.
Under Chapter 66 of the Dunedin Code, residents must place each garbage, recycling, and yard waste cart at the curb with wheels and handles facing the house. Service standards require at least three feet of clearance between carts and around them, and at least five feet of clearance from mailboxes, trees, utility poles, parked vehicles, and obstructions. Carts must be at the curb by 6:00 a.m. and removed from the right-of-way within 24 hours of pickup. Long-term storage of carts must be screened from street view per residential design standards in the Land Development Code.
Improper placement, leaving carts in the right-of-way past 24 hours, or blocking sidewalks can result in warning notices and progressive code enforcement fines.
