Safety Harbor requires garbage containers to be placed within two feet of the curb with proper handle orientation and at least three feet from any obstruction. Containers must be returned to the property by midnight on collection day.
Per the Safety Harbor Sanitation Division and Chapter 10 of the Code of Ordinances, residents must place rolling carts within two feet of the curb with the handle facing the home (or away from the curb to allow truck access). Containers must be at least three feet away from mailboxes, vehicles, fences, low-hanging trees, and other obstructions. Containers may not be placed at the curb earlier than 5:00 p.m. the day before pickup, and must be removed from the right-of-way no later than midnight on the day of collection. Damaged or city-issued carts must be reported to Sanitation for replacement.
Improper bin placement may result in skipped pickup, warning notices, and code enforcement fines for leaving carts in the right-of-way past the deadline.
