Montgomery County offers free drop-off recycling at the Moraine transfer station and countywide drop-offs, plus free electronics recycling for residents. Curbside recycling, where offered, is run by your city or hauler.
The Montgomery County Solid Waste District runs the countywide recycling program under Ohio's solid-waste framework (ORC Chapter 343 / 3734). Residents can drop off recyclables at no cost at the transfer station at 1001 Encrete Lane, Moraine, and at community drop-off sites. Free electronics recycling is offered at the transfer station to all Montgomery County residents; used oil, antifreeze, and (through events) Styrofoam are also collected. Curbside single-stream recycling, where available, is provided by each municipality or hauler, not the county. Yard waste is handled separately as source-separated organics that must go to composting rather than a landfill.
The county does not fine residents for not recycling; municipal curbside programs set their own contamination or set-out rules and penalties.
