Lincoln County, NC Trash & Recycling: Yard Waste Collection (2026)

25(B) of the Lincoln County Code sets the terms for dropping off yard waste, a narrower category than the general residential and commercial waste covered elsewhere in Chapter 52. The section lists what counts: leaves, grass trimmings, tree trimmings, shrubbery trimmings, or other yard waste. It designates where that material goes, the yard waste area at the landfill site, and adds a specific handling requirement that trips up a lot of residents: yard waste must be emptied from bags before being accepted, so a resident who bags leaves at the curb still has to dump them loose once at the site.

The section gives a second, more convenient option too, allowing yard waste to be accepted at designated recycling and convenience sites as well as the landfill itself, rather than requiring every resident to make the longer trip to the landfill site. 25(C).
