030(A)(2) governs accessory structures not used for living purposes, including patio covers, storage sheds, barns, garages and gazebos, whether attached to or detached from the main house. Unless another provision of the section says otherwise, a structure up to 15 feet tall must sit at least five feet from the rear property line, five feet from the interior side property line, and 10 feet from a street side property line. Within any required yard, a single accessory structure cannot exceed 600 square feet of gross floor area, and all above-ground accessory structures together cannot cover more than 25% of that required yard.

A garage physically attached to the main house instead follows the main house's own setback rather than the accessory-structure setback. The code carves out one specific exception for small sheds: a tool shed, storage shed, playhouse or similar structure of 120 square feet or less that does not require a building permit can be placed less than five feet from a side or rear property line, as long as it sits on the interior side of the neighboring parcel's boundary fence or wall and is no taller than that fence.

Architectural projections such as eaves, awnings and mechanical equipment may extend up to four feet into a required front or rear setback, or up to four feet into a side yard if a three-foot side setback is still maintained. 030(A)(4).
