Sec. 138-3505 of the Pinellas County Land Development Code addresses setback measurements, allowances, and restrictions for accessory structures including sheds. Sheds generally must observe a minimum side and rear setback measured from the property line, must not be placed in the front yard between the main residence and abutting street, and cannot exceed 12 feet in height without complying with full district setbacks. Up to two sheds may be permitted as accessory to a residence outside the R-A, R-E, and R-R agricultural-style districts. Sheds under 100 square feet and 10 feet tall typically do not require a building permit unless connected to utilities, but they still must comply with zoning setbacks and the Florida Building Code wind standards.
