Paradise, NV Animal Ordinances: Beekeeping (2026)

Unincorporated Clark County allows beekeeping in most residential zones subject to hive setback requirements under Title 10 and Title 30. Typical rules require hives to be set back at least 10 to 15 feet from property lines and oriented so bee flight paths do not cross neighbor properties. A flyway barrier such as a solid fence or dense hedge at least 6 feet tall is frequently required within 25 feet of the hive. Hives must have a water source on the owner property so foraging bees do not seek pool or neighbor water. Hive counts scale with lot size. All Nevada beekeepers must register annually with the Nevada Department of Agriculture under NRS 552 and pay the statutory fee per colony. Southern Nevada is within the Africanized honeybee (AHB) zone, so feral swarms are presumed Africanized and must be handled by licensed removers rather than caught and kept. HOA rules in master-planned communities like Summerlin South and Anthem commonly prohibit beekeeping regardless of county permission.
