Centennial requires dogs to be on a leash not more than 10 feet long when off the owner's property, held by a person of sufficient age and ability to restrain the animal. Dogs running at large may be impounded and owners fined. Designated off-leash dog parks are exempt.
Under Centennial's animal regulations (Chapter 7), dogs must be under control when off the owner's or keeper's property. Control means the dog is on a leash, cord, or chain not more than 10 feet in length, held by a person of sufficient age, size, and physical ability to restrain the animal. Dogs found off the owner's property without proper control are considered strays and may be impounded, with the owner fined. This requirement does not apply in designated parks where dogs are permitted to run off-leash. All dogs must be properly licensed and vaccinated. Centennial Animal Services enforces these regulations.
Dog at large: impoundment and fine. Unlicensed dog: citation. Contact Animal Services for complaints.
