Under Weymouth Code §§6-700 through 6-812, dogs must be under restraint, defined as on a leash not exceeding 6 feet, when beyond the confines of the owner's property. A dog may be on a longer leash on its owner's property when securely confined. Dogs are prohibited on all public beaches within Weymouth whether leashed or unleashed (service dogs with certification excepted). Dogs must wear their town license tag at all times.
