Prohibited animals include: all poisonous or venomous animals; anacondas, Reticulated Pythons, Burmese Pythons, and Amethystine Pythons; all non-venomous snakes over 6 feet in length; all reptiles over 3 feet in length; gorillas, chimpanzees, orangutans, baboons, and other primates; any feline species not a domestic house cat; and marsupials, squirrels, raccoons, porcupines, skunks, badgers, and similar species. Ferrets (mustela furo) are explicitly exempted and permitted. The ordinance reflects Aurora's urban density and public safety concerns.
