LMC 6.02.130 sets Lynnwood's per-premises animal cap: "No person shall keep more than three cats or three dogs, or two miniature pot-bellied pigs, or any combination of cats and dogs exceeding three in number that are over six months of age on any premises in the city." The six-month threshold means litters of puppies or kittens under that age do not count toward the cap, giving owners time to place them before enforcement attaches. The pot-bellied pig allowance is cross-referenced from LMC 6.02.035, which separately confirms miniature pot-bellied pigs may be kept in the city, capped at two per household, provided the owner complies with the licensing and fee provisions of LMC 6.02.020.

Pot-bellied pigs are defined narrowly in LMC 6.02.015(K) as the North American Vietnamese, Chinese or Asian pot-bellied pig breed no taller than 22 inches at the shoulder and no heavier than 150 pounds, distinguishing them from ordinary swine, which the code otherwise classifies as livestock under LMC 6.02.015(J) and subjects to separate impound and boarding fee categories under LMC 6.02.060. The cap applies per premises, not per owner, so a household with roommates or family members cannot exceed the limit by dividing ownership among residents of the same address.
