Lynnwood, WA Parking Rules: Overnight Parking (2026)

Section 11.44.100 of the Lynnwood Municipal Code, in Snohomish County, Washington, lists three streets where parking is banned during set hours. The rule applies when signs are erected giving notice, and it covers either side of the street. Beech Road is the only entry with an overnight window: no one may park a vehicle there between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.

The other two entries are daytime and weekday restrictions. On 68th Avenue W from 196th Street SW to 204th Street SW, parking is prohibited other than commencing at 12:00 midnight Friday to 12:00 midnight Sunday. On 202nd Street SW from Highway 99 to 68th Avenue W, the ban runs between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., other than commencing at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, or as may be specifically otherwise posted. The posted sign on 202nd Street SW can therefore set a different window than the code text.

The section is separate from the residential-area rule in LMC 11.44.095, which deals with trailers, commercial vehicles and recreation trailers left standing more than 168 hours. Section 11.44.100 applies to any vehicle, and it is tied to signs on the named streets. Section 11.44.070 adds that the chapter's parking prohibitions apply at the times specified or as indicated on official signs, except when a driver must stop to avoid conflict with other traffic or to follow a police officer or traffic-control device. Section 11.44.080 confirms that a time limit in the chapter does not excuse anyone from other, more restrictive parking rules.

The city traffic engineer holds further authority under LMC 11.44.105 to designate no-parking, no-stopping or no-standing zones not exceeding 300 feet in length for safety or spillover parking concerns. Sections 11.44.110 and 11.44.120, which once covered other hour-based and time-limited streets, now read Reserved, so no separate citywide overnight or time-limit street list exists in the chapter.
